day 4, Happy Camp to Bare Loon Lake.

Least sleep last night.

Breakfast was hot water, bread, cheese, and salami.

7:30 my closes and gears were still wet but I found nothing except to go.

Rain outside.

Passed Deep lake, Linden Lake.
Hat some snacks.

a small lake.

13:15 found Today's camp.
This was the best camp site in the trail.
Besides Bare Loon Lake.

Various camp places I could select near the lake or on the hill top.

Sunshine finally came.
I could dry most of my stuff and myself.

In the evening, a Canadian two-dads and kinds from Whitehorse had arrived here.
I and they shared the trail all days.
They were happy and nice guys.

Now 19:50 shall I go to sleeping bag or go out for a night sky ?

Chilkoot day-3, pass the peak and Scale.

5:00 wake up in the shelter.
rain outside.
breakfast something easy.

7:00 go to the trail

steep and hard climb to the peak in rocks.
rain. windy, cloudy.
Sometime I found blueberry. This was sweat and good.

around 11:00 arrived at the peak and the US/Canada boundary.
Kevin was there.

There was woman in a shelter who gave us hot apple juice.
I got some bread and snacks here.

In the north, some lakes in Canada could be seen.
Those should be beautiful if it is fine day, but this dayt it was rain and clouds. Anyway this is nature.

11:30 went down to Canada, still rainy.

There were some creeks and wet lands.

15:00 arrived at the Happy camp hoping for some fire.
It was 8 hours up and down in rain and cold woods and wet lands.
This was the hardest day in the trail.

There was only Kevin in the shelter.
No fire was there unfortunately.
Outside rain and wind, no sunshine.

Happt camp.
Trail mileage: kilometer 33
Elevation: 899 meters
Setting: Alpine, next to creek

Got Ramen.

17:00 some people had come to the shelter.
This was a small shelter and many wet closes, baggages, and people...

In the rain, I tried to make my tent (In fast this is not a tent, but a emergency shelter sheet).

From 19:00 to around 4:00.
I tried to sleep within the small tent, but I could not sleep well due to rain water came to my space.
Then I went to the wood shelter to dry my stuff.

This was the hardest, coldest, wet and least sleep night.

Anyway, the next morning had come to us in the mountain.

Chilkoot, day-2

6:00 wake up
Breakfast was bread, miso soup, cheese, salami.
It took time more than expected to get food,  pack gears into the backpack and go.
8:00 start the trail
Narrow trail, some up and down.

11:20 arrive at the camp,
Sheep campground.

Trail mileage: kilometer 20.9
Elevation: 305 meters
Setting: Treeline, next to creek

Along a river.
I arrived before anyone.
A nice camp site with large Log cabin and good shelter.
Sometime rain. So I stayed with the shelter for a while.

Dinner was curry-noodle, cheese, salami.

Nice talk by a park's ranger about the Chilkoot past.

My shelter is too weak for the windly and rainy night. So I stayed within the log shelter with a wood stove. This was good.
I slept with a sound of water in creek.
(Finetrack zert).
